Make a pledge to stand with our LGBTIQ mates

May 17 is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia; a day to stand together with our mates and colleagues who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer or Questioning and show them that we won’t stand for discrimination against people on the basis of their sexuality.

Sexuality and your career

Data from overseas shows that gay men and lesbian women who are open about their sexuality are more likely to advance in their careers as compared to those who remain ‘closeted’.

That’s why an event like the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia can be so powerful: the day gives workplaces an additional opportunity to show support for people with diverse sexuality and to show them that their workplace celebrates and validates their relationships.

Stand by your mates every day

You can make a difference by taking the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia Pledge: “I stand with my LGBTIQ mates”.
