Building Resilience
Building resilience is a key skill that underpins our ability to cope with the pressures of work and personal life. This developable skill allows managers and staff to deal with and manage events that are unexpected and to bounce back, grow and learn from them. The program explores the five keys to resilience and gives strategies to build resilience.

Managing Change & Building Resilience
Change within an organisation can create a wide range of responses within an individual and within a group. Understanding the nature of transitions and uncertainty associated with change helps to improve our ability to manage high-stress environments and difficult situations. During this session, participants will be introduced to change theory, reflect on their own change journey and learn tips and strategies to build their personal resilience during change.

Managing Self & Others through Change
A constantly changing world and workplace requires skills in being able to deal with change and learn to grow from it. Winning employees' commitment to innovation and change in the workplace is the key challenge for successful implementation of change. Managers will develop an understanding and awareness of personal reactions to change while learning how others react and behave.

Career Transition
This program is designed to give participants the skills, strategies and knowledge to cope in times of career change. It focuses on assessing and identifying career values and motivators, strategies for finding new roles both internal and external to the organisation, as well as skills in contemporary resume development and interviewing skills.


It’s a Matter of Respect
Every member of staff is required by law to be trained in this critical subject. There are seven specific behaviours outlined in health & safety and anti-discrimination legislation which staff need to be aware of. Each of them has a duty of care to self and to taking responsibility for their behaviour. This program helps staff members understand their obligations, learn which work practices constitute inappropriate behaviour and learn how to utilise a "best practice" Issue Resolution process.

Contact Officer Training
This is a program that will help participants understand their role as the first point of contact for the internal complaints process for Bullying, Harassment or Discrimination. Contact Offices will be able to better understand the definition of, and provide examples of, bullying, harassment and discrimination, and what is required of them in this role in terms of communication, confidentiality and reporting.

Understanding & Responding to Family Violence
Family violence affects work performance and workplace safety for not only the victim but for co-workers and whole organisations. This introductory program provides managers with a sound and practical understanding of family violence, its impact and appropriate strategies for responding in a way that promotes safety for all involved. This program, when delivered with the 1.5 hour staff program, supports organisations seeking White Ribbon Accreditation.

Critical Incident Management
This is a program that will help participants understand the nature of critical incidents and their potential impact on people. The program will provide you with information and practical skills to help manage people impacted by critical incidents and also apply strategies for self-care. The program is based on the evidence-based framework for providing support to people in the immediate aftermath of critical incidents: Psychological First-Aid.


Managing Mental Health in the Workplace
This program provides managers with a greater knowledge of mental health in the workplace, types of mental illness and practical tips and strategies for how to respond to people with signs of mental illness in the workplace.

Managing Vicarious Trauma
This program provides an opportunity to build skills and knowledge for people who may be at risk of vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue or burnout due to listening to, reading or hearing about another person's difficult experience. The program is also suitable for people who may have witnessed or been involved in a traumatic event or disaster.

Peer Support Training
This workshop supports the peer support officers in your organisation to be confident and skilled members of the peer support team. Tailored to support your organisation's particular approach to peer support, this program is drawn from contemporary theory and includes practical application of skills and knowledge.

Exploring Vicarious Trauma
This program is for people who may be at risk of vicarious trauma due to listening to, reading or hearing about a person's experience and feelings after witnessing or being involved in a traumatic event or disaster. The program will help participants understand, manage and prevent burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. It will build positive resilience strategies and help participants develop self-care strategies for themselves and others.


Managing Difficult Interactions & People
This program provides skills and strategies for people who work in environments where they many interact with people, in person and on the phone, where someone is highly emotional - upset, angry or aggressive. The program allows participants to reflect on why an interaction may be difficult and gives and opportunity for practising positive communication skills which will assist with defusing difficult interactions and behaviour with the aim of providing a positive outcome for all.

Positive Workplace Communication
In the program, participants complete the StyleMap(TM) questionnaire to learn about their communication style. The program also includes discussion of key elements of effective communication and why it is important, plus tips and strategies for improving workplace communication.

Courageous Conversations
In the workplace there are situations that at times will require you to have challenging or courageous conversations with another person. This program provides participants with a framework for structuring a courageous conversation and skills practice within the session.

Giving & Receiving Feedback
One of the most valuable contributions anyone can make to another person's learning is constructive feedback. Giving and receiving feedback without defensiveness and conflict is a skill that can be learned and developed. This program reviews current approaches to giving and receiving feedback, explores strategies to provide meaningful and productive feedback and teaches participants how to receive feedback positively.

Accidental Counsellor
In every organisation, a few key people with high empathy and authority become the Accidental Counsellor within the organisation. However without formal training, they can start to "burn out" under the emotional loads and stress. This program is designed to give these people the skills, strategies and knowledge they need to continue to help others while also leaning to maintain a professional level of self-care and personal boundaries.

Building Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence has been identified as being as important as any other form of intelligence. In a changing and demanding world, non-technical skills are increasingly called upon to manage people and operations. This program develops these skills through building an understanding of emotion, learning the evidence-based strategies to increase emotional intelligence and building self-awareness and workplace effectiveness.

Positive Conflict Resolution
Workplace conflict has many effects, including stress, reduced productivity, reduced team work and communication skills. These lead to dysfunctional teams and reduced individual engagement in the workplace. This program assists participants to increase self-awareness and emotional intelligence as a means to understand reasons and triggers for conflict and positive strategies to resolve conflict when it arises.

The ability to manage teams in the workplace is an important function of a manager and leader. Understanding how teams are formed, how they develop and how dynamics within teams evolve, assists in giving managers and leaders the tools and strategies to successfully create productive, effective high performance teams.

New Leaders’ Toolkit
The New Leaders' Toolkit program is designed to support and assist participants to transition smoothly from employee to new supervisor. The program develops consistent core leadership competencies amongst new supervisors including communication, decision making and emotional intelligence.

Positive Mentoring
Mentoring is a mutually beneficial partnership which can be rewarding for both people, personally and professionally. This program helps managers and leaders develop skills to mentor their staff and introduces models and frameworks which allow positive mentoring conversations to happen. Importantly, the program focuses on how to make the mentoring relationship productive so that it enhances development and growth for both parties.

Style & Interpersonal Dynamics
Converge has developed a style assessment tool called StyleMap (TM) which has been used successfully with many teams in recent years. It provides a model that is useful in predicting how certain types of people are likely to behave and prefer to be treated in everyday situations. Out training focuses on behavioural styles, not personalities or temperaments. Learning how to better understand these differences can dramatically influence your capacity to work with others, manage potential conflict and better utilise your strengths.
