Cultural Intelligence (CQ) as a developable capacity

Australia’s rich diversity of ethnic, generational and organisational culture requires Cultural Intelligence, or CQ, for our society and workplaces to thrive. CQ is a globally recognised way of assessing and improving effectiveness in culturally diverse situations. Research on cultural intelligence, which to-date spans over 100 countries and 150,000 individuals, demonstrates that those with cultural intelligence have skills in four capabilities and thirteen sub-dimensions, and the good news is that they are developable.

Presenter:

Andrew Jones, Principal Consultant and Accredited CQ Facilitator

When:

Thursday, 27th April 2023

Time:

12.00pm – 12.45pm (AEST)

What you will learn:

  • Define CQ and differentiate it from EQ and technical skills competency
  • Understand how CQ is developed
  • Move beyond cultural awareness to develop cross cultural competencies in four essential capabilities for navigating cross cultural situations
