Moral Injury in the Workplace

You may have heard the term ‘moral injury’ before. It is much-discussed in defence forces around the world. Increasingly though, it is being acknowledged as one of the foundational issues associated with mental illness – regardless of profession. This month, Dr Lindsay Carey (Associate Professor, La Trobe University) and Mick George (Special Projects Officer to the CEO) will be presenting on moral injury and its relevance within the wellbeing and mental health space.

Dr Carey, a leader in this field, was a co-recipient of the ‘Sir Edward Weary Dunlop Award’ by the Australasian Military Medicine Association (AMMA) for conducting the very first exploratory research in Australia into moral injury among Australian veterans.

Mick George has over 30 years’ experience as a military officer and chaplain.
