Transforming Lives Webinar – Understand and Respond to Domestic and Family Violence

Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) can affect anyone, and a national survey found that 30% of employees reported personally experiencing domestic and family violence. Victim-survivors indicate violence and abuse impacts their work performance.

In this seminar you will build your understanding of domestic and family violence (DFV) and you will learn how to respond to employees who disclose experiencing DFV including: how to identify possible warning signs, have the conversation, and support them to access professional services and perform their job safely and effectively including reasonable workplace adjustments. The seminar will also provide you will strategies to ensure you also look after yourself.

The seminar will also include a brief introduction to the additional content included in the half day seminar such as supportive conversation skills (e.g., effective listening, empathy and compassion) and looking after yourself (i.e., self-care, managing boundaries, Vicarious Trauma, Compassion Fatigue, Burnout).
