Risk Assessments
Creating a safe and healthy workplace has never been more important with proposed and future amendments to WH&S legislation requiring organisations to manage their psychosocial risks. Beyond legal compliance, leader and employee participation in managing psychosocial risk is fundamental to a safety culture and should be a key focus area for an organisation’s people or wellbeing strategy.
A risk assessment is a systematic process of evaluating the potential psychosocial risks that may be involved in an activity. There are generally four major components to address when conducting a risk assessment:
- Identify hazards
