What is financial coaching?

If you partner with Converge, financial coaching is a service we provide to your employees and family members. We define our financial coaching stream as a personalised financial mentoring program where your employees can access an expert money coach and receive in-depth financial education – which includes budgeting, financial awarenesses, planning for retirement and much more.

How does Financial Coaching work?

Our financial coaches work with your staff to create tailored plans (such as budgets, etc.), to grow their financial confidence and make more informed decisions, in addition to accountability. We also help your employees become aware of their financial behaviour, including habits, values and patterns of spending, to support them to make changes to enable better money management skills. For example, understanding where cuts can be made and creating buckets in their bank accounts to help them achieve financial goals.

Our team comprises industry experts who understand your employees needs and have experience and expertise to support all employees irrespective of their financial position. Your employees could be a super saver who wants to know where they can make their money work harder. Or they could be in financial distress and need help setting up a budget and savings plan. What Does a Financial Coaching Appointment Look Like?

Your first session clarifies your situation and goals. From there, your coach tailors a step-by-step plan — confidential, flexible, and practical.

The first appointment is all about gaining an understanding of your financial situation and primary goals. It can also include a financial health check with suggested strategies and potential homework to increase insight into financial spending and priority areas to focus on.

From there, the financial coach will map out a tailored course of action. Appointments can be weekly or fortnightly depending on preference and availability and can take place via phone or video meeting. Your employees are free to attend on their own or with someone else (like their partner). The appointments are also completely confidential, and the information provided will not be shared with any external party.

Financial coaching appointments will:
