Unlocking potential

What is Neurodiversity Support?

Neurodiversity is common in workplaces across Australia and New Zealand with 11%^ of employees identifying as neurodivergent (ABS).  ABS statistics , unfortunately, also show that 34% of neurodivergent Australians are currently unemployed, despite their potential in the areas of enhanced focus, innovative problem-solving, analytical thinking and creativity.

Recognising and supporting the diverse strengths of neurodivergent individuals is key to fostering wellbeing and success at work. Converge’s Neurodiversity Support services offer tailored guidance through specialised consultants who work alongside individuals to explore approaches that align with their unique ways of thinking, working and communicating, empowering them to navigate challenges and opportunities at work or at home.

Improved functioning and wellbeing at work and home for those who are diagnosed or have neurodivergent characteristics:

  • Dyslexia
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism
  • Dyspraxia
  • Dyscalculia
  • And many more!

FAQs

All your questions about our Neurodiversity Product answered

Here are a range of FAQs about our Neurodiversity Support service. If you have any questions outside the ones below, please get in touch! We’re always here to support your organisation anytime, anywhere.

Can my team receive a diagnosis from Converge?

Unfortunately not, the Neurodiversity Support product will not diagnose customers as only certain specialists can diagnose neurodiversity.

Who will deliver support to my neurodiverse team members?

We have a team of experienced specialist consultants to support your employees with issues relating to neurodiversity. They offer specific neurodiversity skills in addition to mental health support to ensure a quality and comprehensive service that makes a difference to functioning and wellbeing.

Is your Neurodiversity Support service delivered face-to-face?

Our Neurodiversity Support stream is a telehealth service only and will mirror EAP service provision in terms of session allowance.

Can Neurodiversity Support advocate for the needs of managers and organisation?

Our Neurodiversity Support stream mirrors the service parameters of all EAP services which includes the need to be neutral in the face of any conflict of interest between client and customer. However, our specialised consultants will encourage employees to have conversations with the organisation and support your teams to brainstorm options that improve functioning and guide them on independent choices to achieve wellbeing.

Can my teams access Neurodiversity support if they are a carer, manager or colleague of some-one who is neurodivergent?

Yes, our specialised consultants will support those who care for, work and/or manage someone who is neurodivergent. They will provide strategies, guidance on communication and any relevant areas of support that will assist the employee in their role. This includes their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of their colleague/employee or personal friend/family member.

How will this service help if one of my staff are neurodivergent and have never previously accessed support?

Our specialised Consultants will support your staff to gain greater awareness of their neurodivergent behaviours and characteristics, and within that, acknowledge the experiences that will help them to identify areas of strengths and capability, and not just challenges and incapacity. They will provide practical strategies whilst understanding any impact – both positive and negative – that their neurodiversity may have had on their life.
