What is an Employee Assistance Program
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a professional counselling service that is funded by an employer for their employees. The program is designed to offer confidential, short-term support for a variety of wellbeing challenges that may be affecting you at work or at home.
It gives users access to qualified professionals, including psychologists, social workers and counsellors.
What services do Converge provide?
EAP provides a range of mental health and wellbeing support to employees as well as to their immediate family members (partners and dependent children). This will include a broad range of support including Financial and Career Coaching, Nutrition, Legal, Family, Manager, Employee, and Conflict. We also have 7 specialist helplines including, LGBTQIA+, First Nations, and Domestic and Family Violence.
How to make an appointment with an EAP?
Appointments can be booked in three different ways:
- Download the Converge App on any digital device, such as a mobile or a tablet
- Access via the website through our online booking portal
- By calling our dedicated phone number 1300 687 327
Can immediate family access EAP?
Yes. Immediate family members includes parents, siblings, partners or dependent children.
How experienced are Converge clinicians?
You will be matched with the most appropriate clinician for your initial presenting concern. More than 70% of our clinicians in Australia have more than 10 years of experience in their field.
These services are delivered by qualified and trained clinicians. You will also be supported to request for a new clinician if preferred.
Does Converge offer support across Australia?
Converge covers 95% of Australia via face-to-face consultation and 100% via telehealth appointments.
Face-to-face consults through EAP will be available in almost all remote locations unless the area where you operate is highly remote. Turnaround time for booking a non-urgent face-to-face appointment may vary depending on how remote the location is. Telehealth appointments can be made via our Online Booking engine, Converge App, or Live Chat functionality.
Can counselling be offered in languages other than English?
Yes. Our EAP program can be delivered in a range of local languages.
What specialised support is offered through Converge?
Our consultants are versed and/or have lived experience in a range of themes and issues facing Australians. This includes specialised areas such as First Nations, LGBTQIA+, Young People, Domestic and Family Violence, Aged Care, Disability and Carers, and Spiritual and Pastoral.
Is privacy and confidentiality guaranteed?
Yes. All user data registered with our EAP is treated as private and confidential. Employers do not have any access to specific and personal information that can identify users of EAP including information on what was discussed. All employee data is stored locally, here in Australia, following strict cyber security protocals and ISO 27001.
What reporting does Converge offer?
Through Converge’s advanced analytics, you will be provided with a range of insightful data.
